چکیده

Introduction Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is a small, nonenveloped, circular, single stranded DNA virus. By phylogenetic analysis PCV2 can be further divided into two main genotypes, PCV2a and PCV2b, both distributed worldwide. Despite the fact that PCV2 is now being regarded as an important swine pathogen, information on its interaction with oocytes and embryos (1, 2) should be further investigated. This research has been designed to study the capability of PCV2-added semen to produce infected blastocysts from IVM (in vitro maturation) IVF (in vitro fertilization) oocytes.

Effect of vaccination of boars against porcine circovirus type 2 on ejaculate characteristics, serum antibody titers, viremia, and semen virus shedding.

The objective of this research was to determine the effect of vaccination against porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) on ejaculate characteristics, PCV2-specific antibody titers in serum, viremia, and viral shedding in the semen of PCV2-positive boars. Before vaccination, all boars were confirmed by PCR to be naturally infected with PCV2. The boars were vaccinated with a commercial killed vaccine ...

P-67: Quantitative Expression of Pluripotency Specific-Genes in Mouse Blastocysts Produced by In Vitro Fertilization

Background: The efficiency of in vitro fertilization (IVF) is still low to be developed to blastocyst stage probably because of environmental conditions. It is likely that in vitro environment can not exactly mimic in vivo environment due to differences in media, metabolic content, atmospheric composition, temperature and pH. Therefore it may affect embryo quality by changing in embryo gene exp...

In vitro and in vivo quality of bovine embryos in vitro produced with sex-sorted sperm.

In this work we analyzed the effects of three culture systems on developmental ability of bovine embryos in vitro produced with sexed sperm, the survival to vitrification (cryologic vitrification method) of such blastocysts, and their pregnancy rates after embryo transfer to recipients, both as fresh and after vitrification/warming. Finally, we measured the accuracy of the sorting protocol by a...

Improvement of vitrification of in vitro produced buffalo embryos with special reference to sex ratio following vitrification

Cryopreservation and sexing of embryos are integrated into commercial embryo transfer technologies. To improve the effectiveness of vitrification of in vitro produced buffalo embryos, two experiments were conducted. The first evaluated the effect of exposure time (2 and 3 min) and developmental stage (morula and blastocysts) on the viability and development of vitrified buffalo embryos. Morphol...

Susceptibility of in vitro produced hatched bovine blastocysts to infection with bluetongue virus serotype 8

Bluetongue virus serotype 8 (BTV-8), which caused an epidemic in ruminants in central Western Europe in 2006 and 2007, seems to differ from other bluetongue serotypes in that it can spread transplacentally and has been associated with an increased incidence of abortion and other reproductive problems. For these reasons, and also because BTV-8 is threatening to spread to other parts of the world...
